Quinton de Kock’s Injury May Rule Him Out of IPL 2017 – South African aggressive wicketkeeper-batsman injured his finger during South Africa vs New Zealand 2nd Test which has created doubt over his upcoming commitments. Quinton de Kock is expected to miss the third Test match against New Zealand. But sources also suggest de Kock will miss IPL and Champions Trophy. This will be a huge blow for Delhi Daredevils franchise. Earlier in the week all-rounder, JP Duminy opted to pull out of IPL 2017. Quinton de Kock’s absence in the IPL 2017 will dent Delhi Daredevils hope of securing the ultimate crown. (Trending Now: Most Expensive Spells in IPL History)
De Kock had an X-ray of his injured finger which suggested that finger was not broken but had suffered a ligament damage. The decision over De Kock’s appearance in the third test would be taken on Friday after the fitness test.
Whereas, uncapped keeper Heinrich Klaasen is on standby and will replace Quinton de Kock if he fails the fitness test, a day prior to the start of 3rd Test. South Africa lead the test series 1-0 with one test yet to play.

South African team manager and doctor Mohammed Moosajee expressed his views on De Kock’s injury. He said,
We’ll make a late call whether, with the protective strapping the physio is trying to arrange, he can bat. There is every likelihood he will pull out. Every time he catches the ball, stress goes on that area. He is going to need a period of recovery.
Moosajee also said that injury may take four to six weeks to heal which creates a doubt on de Kock’s IPL presence. Mohammad also doubts de Kock’s return for ICC Champions Trophy 2017 which is scheduled in June.
