Rising Pune Supergiant’s R Ashwin To Miss IPL 2017 Due to Injury – Ravichandran Ashwin who was picked by Rising Pune Supergiants during the drafts is set to miss the IPL 2017. Ravi Ashwin has been ruled out for six to eight weeks with a sports hernia injury.Ravichandran Ashwin has been busy with on stop cricket since July. Ashwin, who bowled most number of overs in a Test season is set to start with rehabilitation soon and regain full fitness before June when India start their ICC Champions Trophy title defence. (Trending Now: IPL 2017 Schedule)
Ashwin’s withdrawal does not come with a surprise. Offspinner first picked up the injury right after England Tests in December. Due to injury he also had withdrawn from Tami Nadu squad for Ranji Trophy semi-finals. (Just Now: KL Rahul Injury Rules Him out of IPL 10)

Playing non-stop cricket for India, Ashwin bowled 738.2 overs in 13 Tests this home season. He also made a record of getting the most number of wickets in a season by picking 82 wickets. His absence will surely hit Rising Pune Supergiants who have the history of players getting injured. RPS have already lost Mitchell Marsh due to a shoulder injury. R Ashwin was a major attribute in RPS side who picked 10 wickets last season.
Rising Pune Supergiants kick off their IPL 2017 campaign against Mumbai Indians on 6th April 2017 at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune. The team will be led by new captain Steve Smith.

Nathan Lyon To Replace R Ashwin?

Since the news of R Ashwin’s withdrawal, many speculations are being made about who will replace the injured R Ashwin. The withdrawal is a huge loss for RPS and RPS need to find an equally talented spinner to replace R Ashwin. Sources close to Steve Smith club have indicated that Indian off-spinner would be replaced by Nathon Lyon who had a good outing in Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Lyon picked 19 wickets in the series and could be a good replacement for RPS.
