Dale Steyn to miss IPL 2017, eyes for ICC Champions Trophy return – South African fast bowling legend suffered an injury during the 1st Test against Australia in November. Since then Steyn has been out of action and has undergone shoulder surgery. Dale Steyn now is aiming for a June return which means Steyn is going to miss lots of cricket for South Africa and also the biggest cricket league IPL which is scheduled to be played in April-May 2017.
Dale Steyn Shoulder Injury Update – Dale Steyn had a successful shoulder surgery in Cape Town but is expected to miss the early first half of 2017. Steyn is confident of bowling once again by the end of February. Dale Steyn regrets rushing back from injury which he suffered 12 months back. Steyn had suffered hairline fracture a year back on the same shoulder.
The 33-year-old fast bowler will miss New Zealand series which South Africa are expected to host in next month. South Africa and New Zealand are scheduled to play all forms of cricket in this series which includes Tests, ODIs and T20s. New Zealand is followed by England tour and ICC Champions Trophy. In course of time, IPL will be played in India in April-May.
