ICC Champions Trophy 2017 Warm Up Matches Schedule Announced – ICC has declared the schedule of Warm Up matches which is to be played prior to the actual kick off of ICC Champions Trophy 2017. Each team will play two warm-up matches which is scheduled to start from 26th May 2017.
The strong favourites Australia and South Africa have already announced their 15 man squad for ICC Champions Trophy. Australia has also declared that team will depart to England on 18th May – which is two weeks prior to the tournament. They are scheduled to face Sri Lanka and Pakistan in warm-up ties on 26th and 29th May.
Even South Africa has declared their 15 man squad. Keshav Maharaj’s inclusion has come by surprise. Otherwise, Steyn, Morkel are set to make comeback. South Africa have a short tour of England before ICC Champions Trophy. They will play 3 ODIs before ICC CT 2017. So they are not scheduled for any warm up matches.
Sri Lanka who has been dismal in last 12 months have dropped in their rankings in all three formats. They are yet to announce the team squad but SLC has made it clear that team will depart two weeks prior and have booked a ground, hotels and necessary facilities at Kent. The team will lay Scotland on 20th and 22nd May. Further they will face Australia and New Zealand on 26th and 30th May.
